Murray speaks with local veterans about challenges

Senator Patty Murray visits the Tri-Cities today to try to help out some of our local veterans.
This morning, Murray spoke with several veterans at Columbia Basin College about the challenges they face while transitioning to civilian life.
Veterans say it can be difficult for them to go to school, find housing, work and affordable health care.
Murray says she plans to take their stories and concerns to Washington DC to improve benefits for all veterans.
"I am always frustrated and disheartened by the stories I hear from veterans today. So many people think that these men and women have served and our country's there for them, they're doing great. Well, the fact is that too often, we haven't done what's great for returning soldiers" said Murray.
Murray will hold a hearing on these issues next month.
