High Schools Name Athletic Conference
Local schools announce new high school athletic conference to be named Mid-Columbia Conference. Will include Kamiakin, Kennewick, Southridge, Richland, Hanford, Pasco, Chiawana, and Walla Walla.
The conference will be a mixed 3A/4A league and will begin play next fall. The eight schools recently decided to leave the Big Nine in order to cut down on travel costs and to lessen the amount of school time missed by athletes and coaches.
