Two Teens Arrested on Burglary Charges
Two 15 year old burglary suspects are arrested after leading police on a foot chase in the Zillah area.
Just beflore 11 a.m. a homeowner on Cheyne Road told the Sheriff's office that he interrupted the teens allegedly burlarizing his home, stealing a gun. The homeowner gave a description of the suspects' clothing, as well as the getaway car.
Deputies later spotted the suspects' car. It had gotten stuck in an area used by ATV's. The suspects saw the deputies and ran off, but were later found in a nearby canal, where they were arrested.
Police later learned the teens' car was stolen. Officers recovered property, including the handgun allegedly stolen from the house on Cheyne Road, as well as items from a second burglary at a home on Houghton Road.
Deputies booked the suspects, who are from Sunnyside, into the Yakima County Juvenile Center. The teens are facing burglary and other charges.
