The Kennewick School District confirms there has been one additional report of Pertussis, or Whooping Cough, since it was announced yesterday there were two.

Friday it was announced that an additional student at Desert Hills was diagnosed, and there is a fourth possible case at Kamiakin High School, but that has not been confirmed.

The district announced Thursday a student at Cottonwood Elementary and another at Desert Hills Middle School were diagnoses with the disease.

Both students have been pulled from classes because of the contagious nature of the disease.

Lorraine Cooper, Director of Communications for KSD, said she is unsure if any of the cases have come from the same family.

She said the district has been trying to get the word out about the symptoms and the seriousness of the disease through the district's website, Facebook page and by sending out a letter Friday after school.
