UPDATE: Yakima County Homicide Victim Identified
The Yakima County Sheriff's Office is investigating a homicide that occurred Thursday afternoon in the 6200 block of Lateral A.
36-year-old Audelino Mendez, a resident of the lower Yakima Valley, died as the result of a single gunshot wound to the abdomen after being transported to Yakima Memorial Hospital. He died during surgery.
The identity of the suspect or suspects, and the motive, is still under investigation.
