UPDATE: Suspect Arrested in Walla Walla Hostage Situation
A man wanted in a Walla Walla kidnapping case concerning an incident with police has been arrested.
Kyle Jamerson was taken into custody at 2:40 this afternoon. He was seen by an off-duty College Place Police Officer near the intersection of University and Stanton Streets in Walla Walla. The officer called Dispatch and Jamerson was taken into custody without incident. He is currently being interviewed by a WWPD Detective.
He is suspected of holding two women hostage early this morning and was considered armed and dangerous.
Police were notified shortly after 6 a.m. when the women ended up at a local hospital. Both women had been at Jamerson's apartment last night, when he became enraged and produced a sawed-off 12 gauge shotgun and began threatening them. After some time passed, one of the women became ill and they all went to the hospital.
Jamerson, who still had possession of the shotgun, remained in the vehicle near the emergency room entrance to the hospital and the women went inside where a call was made to 911. Officers arriving at the hospital found Jamerson's pickup unoccupied and the shotgun.
Jamerson may face kidnapping and assault charges and charges for possesion of an unlawful firearm and unlawful possession of a firearm.
