City Council Approves 2013 Budget
The Yakima City Council approves next year's budget plan.
The general fund for the city is about 2 percent higher than last year.
Part of the budget includes adding several police officers, bringing back city fire inspections, and opening a medical clinic for employees.
City Manager Tony O'Rourke says the budget plan was partially influenced by a survey filled out by citizens earlier this year.
The city also plans on improving the downtown area to hopefully boost retail sales.
