UGPD Appoints Interim chief of police

The Union Gap Police Department appoints a temporary police chief.
Sergeant Greg Cobb was been named the city's interim police chief yesterday.
Cobb is replacing former chief, Roberto Almeida, who was released for undisclosed nondisciplinary medical issues last week.
Cobb says he is very familiar with the position, having filled in-in the past, but does not intend to stay there.
"As far as the future goes, the city will determine what their needs are for the candidate to fill this position permanently. More likely than not, that won't be a position that I applied for," said Cobb.
Cobb says he will most likely remain as the interim chief of police until the end of the year.
