Crews from our region are finally returning home after spending a week fighting the Taylor Bridge Fire.

Crews from Benton and Franklin Counties as well as the Prosser Fire Department came home last night.

They were dispatched last Tuesday after the fire broke out and worked 14-18 hour night shifts every day.

They were not only spraying water on the fire they were digging trenches and monitoring hot spots near homes.

Franklin County crews worked cutting lines, which means making sure the surrounding dirt wouldn't catch fire.

Crews say communication between the different departments was necessary for their success.

On top of demobilizing crews, crews at the scene are also consolidating some of the camps at the Taylor Bridge Fire.
