Benefit Concert Raises $42,000
A benefit concert in Cle Elum raises tens of thousands of dollars this weekend for those affected by the Taylor Bridge Fire.
The Swiftwater Cellars raised $42,000 through its benefit concert on Friday night.
Over 1,200 people attended the event, where donations were made by purchasing food or through personal donations.
One event planner says people of all ages were emptying their pockets for the cause.
"I had children walk up and say 'here's a dollar of my allowance, I want it to go to the cause,' and local people that just walked and and said 'you know I can't give much, but here's to the cause,'" said Lori Watts.
The money raised from the concert will go to the local American Red Cross, Life Support, and the Taylor Bridge Fire Victim Fund.
