Man injured in driveby shooting in Yakima
Yakima Police are investigating a driveby shooting which left one man injured early this morning.
Officers responded to the 600 block of N. 2nd St. just after 2 a.m. to reports of gunshots.
Moments later a call came in from a resident in the 600 block of N. 3rd St. that there was a victim of a gunshot at that location. Officers did not locate the victim there, but found him at a local hospital where he had been transported by a friend.
The victim said he was driving to his friend’s house when someone in an oncoming white Ford Taurus began shooting a gun at him. The victim’s vehicle was hit several times going through the windshield and driver’s door. The victim received a grazing wound to his neck and another bullet went into his left knee. Both wounds were not life threatening.
The victim and his friend were not gang affiliated.
