Crowds Listening To Fire Officials

Morning Update- Fire is 25% Contained

Original Story-

A community meeting is held tonight at Central Washington University for those affected by the fire.

About 500 people gathered to hear officials from different departments update them on the current status of the Taylor Bridge Fire.

Many officers who spoke gave thanks to the community for volunteering their resources in order to help firefighters and those who have lost their homes to the fire.

One couple expressed their gratitude towards all who are involved.

"For the first time, I mean, it worked. All these emergency people worked so hard and they should get thanks. I --I'm so proud," said Cheryl Cosand.

"We give all the praise and all the glory to the lord and all the people that have been fighting this fire. Everybody's just doing what they can to help us all," said Gerald Cosand.

Officials say they will continue to hold these meetings as often as possible to keep people informed.
