Yakima Co. sheriff's deputies investigate burglary in Selah

From the Yakima County Sheriff's Office:

On Saturday, August 11th at 10 AM, The Yakima County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the 100 block of Quail Ridge Road in Selah, in reference to a burglary. It was reported that a neighbor had discovered the 72 year old male victim after hearing him yelling for help. It was reported that the victim had been assaulted during the incident.

Deputies from the Sheriff’s Office arrived and the victim, who is disabled and has limited mobility, reported that sometime after 9 AM, he had been confronted by two Hispanic males as he lay in bed. The suspects demanded cash and valuables and the location of any safe. The victim said that when he tried to explain he had nothing the suspects began assaulting him. The victim suffered injuries to his arm and abrasions to his face.  He was then restrained when the suspects tied him up. He was able to free himself and get into his wheel chair to reach a door and began yelling for help. 

The victim was treated at the scene by Selah Fire and ambulance personnel but refused transport.

At this time the suspects are unknown and described as Hispanic males. It is yet undetermined what items were removed from the home which had been totally ransacked.
