Ballots Still Being Counted for Primary Election
Ballots are still trickling into auditor's office across the region to decide the results in this year's primary election.
Some races have been called, but there are still quite a few that are undecided because the auditor is still waiting to receive all of the ballots from voters.
Turnout was pretty low throughout the region, which was somewhat expected. Here are the totals as of Wednesday evening for percentage of eligible voters who cast a ballot:
Benton County - 26%
Franklin County - 21%
Walla Walla County - 27%
Yakima County - 23%
Kittitas County - 35%
The Selah community pool levy passed easily, which will keep that pool operating for the next six years.
Walla Walla voters shot down a levy that would help build an aquatic park in town.
Yakima voters turned down a 0.1% sales tax increase that would help fund renovations to the jail.
