Neighbors Help Firefighters Fight Back Brush Fire
Firefighter crews from both Yakima City and West Valley responded to a fire that spreads to an elderly woman's home tonight.
Crews responded to a call around 7:15 this evening of a brush fire that was pushed by high winds into a home on West Tieton Drive.
Mary Jarvis says she was driving by the house when the flames engulfed the attic of the home.
Jarvis says she heard an explosion come from the home, and black smoke soon engulfed the neighborhood.
Neighbors helped evacuate the elderly woman from her home, and assisted fire crews in putting out the fire.
Fire crews are currently investigating the cause of the fire.
