Gang Free Initiative Hosts Provider Orientation
The city of Yakima Gang Free Initiative hosts a provider orientation this morning for various organizations around the county.
Representatives from Yakima's GFI spoke with potential partners about creating new services to keep kids out of gangs.
The services include funding organizations who partner with the GFI, and expanding their youth outreach programs.
One guest says partnering multiple organizations will strengthen the impact on the county's gang problem.
"The solutions really are in our community. And I think when we harness those solutions and we harness the brainpower, I think there are really positive things on the horizon for us," says Safe Yakima Valley Director David Rolfe.
GFI members say hope to eventually construct a building to centralize all the gang prevention programs in the future.
