The legal battle over a giant mural of an octopus above a Walla Walla toy store is expected to continue, despite a recent ruling from the State Court of Appeals to take the painting down.

The attorney representing Bob Catsiff, the toy store's owner, says he plans to file a motion for reconsideration within the next couple of days.

The motion would ask the State Court of Appeals to reassess its ruling from earlier this month.

According to Walla Walla's sign code, the 650 square foot painting above the Inland Octopus Toy Store is a sign that is too large to stay up.

Catsiff has admitted the painting is a sign, but argues the city's sign code is unconstitutional and should be changed.
