Hermiston school nurse earns state award

A school nurse from Hermiston receives some surprise recognition from state leaders in Oregon.
Ramona Trebilcock has been named the 2012 Oregon school nurse of the year.
Nurse Ramona, as she is commonly called, cares for students at all eight schools in the Hermiston School District.
On average, she helps about 800 students a year.
Her co-workers nominated her for the award.
They say she goes above and beyond her job requirements - even makes herself available on non-school days.
