Leftover Turkey Trot
More than one-hundred people "trotted" off some of their holiday meals in Yakima this weekend for a good cause.
The crowd ran and walked more than three miles of the Yakima Greenway Saturday morning for the second annual "Leftover Turkey Trot."
Some even dressed up for the occasion, wearing clothes and hats decorated like turkeys. Sally Hopkins of Yakima trotted with her friend and their dogs.
Part of the proceeds go to Camp Primetime at Clear Lake, and they wanted to help.
"They enable families who have children who are very ill or have disabilities to come for a weekend, and everything is taken care of for them," says Hopkins.
Some turned the Leftover Turkey Trot into a family affair as they trotted with their kids. Organizers expect the event to raise $3-thousand for Camp Primetime and the Yakima Greenway Foundation.
