Group Renovates 33 Houses on Yakama Reservation

A church group from Walla Walla has spent the last week renovating homes on the Yakama Reservation. 33 houses were renovated by members of the City Church Seventh Day Adventist Church in Walla Walla.

They're helping to make homes and lives a little better.

The effort is made possible by $16,000 the church raised.

The Associate Pastor of the church Doug Brown said, "these guys all know how to pinch a penny...and just work it out and material costs are way down."

The group hopes to strengthen the community on the Yakama Reservation.

They'll wrap up all the projects by noon Wednesday.

Resident Betty Gould had her house renovated. She appreciated the gesture, "No idea how my name got to them, but I was very grateful."
