Meningitis Exposure on Regional Greyhound Bus

The department issued a news release Wednesday, saying up to 24 people who were on the bus may have been exposed to a patient with the disease.
Health department spokeswoman Emily Simnitt said the bus trip began in Denver, and the ill person -- who was only identified as a Nevada resident -- was taken off the bus in Salt Lake City. The person died at a Salt Lake City hospital.
The bus made stops in Burley, Twin Falls, Boise and Nampa before continuing on to Portland, Ore. Simnitt said people who think they were on the bus should call the department so they can get information about steps they should take to reduce the risk of developing the serious disease.
